WELCOME TO OUR HOME PAGE Buchan Tenants’ and Residents’ Association is made up of the people who live on the Barset Estate and properties detailed within our catchment area (see BTRA catchment tab on our home page). The association is made up of Tenants’ & Residents from Barset Rd, Buchan Rd, Daniels Rd, Gibbon Rd, Howbury Rd, Kimberley Ave, Linden Grove, Salisbury Terrace, and Tappesfield Rd. The Buchan T&RA catchment area comprises of 279 Barset style design properties and 104 non Barset style design properties. Members work together to represent and provide a collective voice for all tenants and home owners in the area and make their neighbourhood a better place to live. The aim of the members is to work collectively to improve housing and environmental standards in their neighbourhood and increase a sense of community by encouraging everybody to become involved. Members can benefit by taking part in social events and other organised services for the community. We have approx. Two day trips per year, in 2010 we went to Brighton & Margate. Thankfully the weather was kind to us and everyone had a great day out. The association committee members meet on the 1st Monday of every month (If the Monday falls on a Bank Holiday \ Public Holiday the meeting will be on the Second Monday of the Month) and give their time and support wherever it is needed. Anyone in our catchment area is welcome to join the committee and have their say. These photos are from the 'Brighter Buchan Event' on the Buchan Hall Green on Tuesday 22nd March 2011. The new floodlights were officially switched on by Councillor Fiona Colley, with a little help from our aspiring young players About Nunhead SE15 Nunhead is a place in the London Borough of Southwark ‘sits neatly’ near Peckham, East Dulwich and New Cross. Nunhead also contains Nunhead Cemetery, a Victorian cemetery who have a well attended open day each year, usually in May. The neighbourhood is predominantly a residential area, with small pockets of light industry around Brayards and Consort Road. It's probably most famous for being home to the celebrities Jimmy "the toss" Frame and Irene "Peckletons" Brace. Most of the neighbourhood is within walking distance of one of the three over ground rail stations at Nunhead, Peckham Rye and Queens Road. Rail services connect Nunhead with central London stations including Blackfriars, Victoria and London Bridge. The P12 and 78 Bus routes follow the main roads around the edge of the neighbourhood. There are a number of (to many to mention them all) shops along Nunhead Lane & Evelina Road, including a F.C Soper Fishmongers, and Ayres Bakery. There are two butchers shops, two florists, a tanning salon, several hair dressers and pharmacies, MKK for all your Plumbing and sundry needs, & of course tasty take aways also. Very near to Nunhead Station we have Nunhead Dry Cleaners, Londis Supermarket, King Valley Chicken House, Venus Launderette, Tony’s Men’s Barbers, Silver Fish Bar, B&B Glaziers Regeneration programme in Nunhead With the above now going ahead, and shop frontages being updated and replaced the finished product is pleasing to the eye. © COPYRIGHT 2009 SGTO |
